2018 GFA first prize winner

Extraordinary young French guitarist Raphaël Feuillâtre is the 2018 first prize winner of the Guitar Foundation of America International Concert Artist Competition, the most important event of its kind in the world. Feuillâtre studied at the Conservatory of Nantes and then at the Paris National Superior Conservatory in the class of Roland Dyens, from which he graduated in 2017 with the highest honours. He has also taken classes with Judicaël Perroy, whom he credits with a key role in his artistic development. As part of his GFA competition prize Feuillâtre will tour for six months in the United States, Canada, Mexico and Japan, and will record a CD for the Naxos label’s “Laureate” series. He has also won the first prize in the International Competition Jose Tomas (Spain) which resulted in invitations to teach and perform at festivals in Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Hungary, Holland, Montenegro, Spain, Brazil and Argentina.
