The Anne Burrows Music Foundation presents the 40th Anniversary Ruby Celebration Fall Dinner at the University of Alberta Faculty Club (11435 Saskatchewan Drive NW) on Saturday, November 2.

The Anne Burrows Music Foundation is excited to host a charity dinner with musical performances by world renowned violinist, Ewald Cheung, accompanied by pianist, Henry Mokken, in support of post-secondary music students and the local music community!

The ABMF was founded by the late Dr. Anne Burrows, along with 4 other like-minded music lovers, back in 1980 to assist world-renowned concert pianist Angela Cheng to study at the Juilliard School of Music. Dr. Burrows was a noted educator, journalist, author, broadcaster and music teacher, who was awarded the highest honours in Canada for her contributions to the community and the country. More information about Dr. Burrows and the ABMF is available at www.burrowsfoundation.org.

Our charitable non-profit organization has provided many local music students with funds to further their post-secondary education and careers. Over the past 40 years, we have provided over $1.2 million in scholarships to 100+ musicians, and have become an important part of Edmonton’s cultural scene. To this day, we continue to be 100% operated and directed by volunteers, with almost all net proceeds allocated toward post-secondary education support to music scholarship recipients.

This charity dinner will be our launch event for a series of special events in celebration of our 40th anniversary, including classical concerts, jazz concerts, speaker panels, and more! Follow us on Instagram, Facebook, or our website to stay tuned.

Cocktails will be served at 6:00pm, dinner will be served at 7:00pm, and the musical performance will begin at 8:30pm.

Tickets are $150; you will be issued an $80 donation tax receipt after the event.
