TIX on the Square is proud to partner with the Islamic Family and Social Services Association (IFSSA) to carry the Canadian Prayer Rug and The Travelling Tote.

The Canadian Prayer Rug
According to IFSSA, “the locally designed and woven prayer rug celebrates the many communities and people who helped nurture and develop the Canadian landscape, from our Indigenous brothers and sisters who worked alongside the early Lebanese and Ukrainian pioneers to build Canada’s first mosque, the Al Rashid, to the thousands of Syrian newcomers who are establishing a home and future in this country.”

The Travelling Tote
A collaboration between the Islamic Family & Social Services Association (IFSSA) and Global Stitches, The Travelling Tote is a one-of-a-kind, handcrafted tote sewn by local women makers in Edmonton. Each tote uses upcycled materials in a variety of colours giving each bag its own personality.

Global Stitches offers emerging artists with skills in textiles the opportunity to transform upcycled fabrics into beautiful pieces for resale. This program provides women in community with the means of improving their skills and the ability to sell their products.
